How to End up with a Perfect Hair Color

Hair coloring, or what is often referred to as ‘hair dying’, is something that we, as females, do whenever we feel bored, stressed, or tired of our looks. So, changing the hair’s color seems like changing the mood, which actually makes us feel more confident about ourselves. Most ladies, nowadays, purchase the coloring product to apply it at home as a way of economizing both time and money. However, not all of them succeed in doing so! In fact, the process is very easy…But as long as the instructions are respected! In this article, we are going to provide you with some advice along with instructions that you can follow in order to end up with the perfect hair color.

1. Advice/Recommendations?

  • Do you hesitate between two colors? It’s highly recommended to choose the lighter one, as you would still have time to darken it next time you color your hair. The opposite does not hold true though.
  • Do not wash your hair before coloring.
  • Buy two boxes, especially if you have thick or long hair (under the shoulder) so you don’t run out of product in the middle of the process.
  • Don’t skip the package insert prior to starting. It gives you instructions on how much time should be respected in order to get the right result from the very first attempt. Keep, next to you, the phone number of the advisor (the one indicated on the packaging) who should be contacted in case any problems occur.
  • Prepare everything you’ll need before starting: the coloring products and protective gloves (included in the box), a detangler, a tail comb, a timer, and a triptych mirror to see even from the back. You will also have to sacrifice a towel to protect your clothes.

2. Instructions for use

  • Apply the mixture to your hair roots, do a little massage with your hands to get it spread over the rest of your hair roots. Leave it on for 10 minutes.
  • Spread the rest of the mixture on the rest of the hair from the roots to the tips.
  • Massage your hair from roots to tips, and leave the texture on it for 30 minutes.
  • Rinse until you observe that the water turns out to be clear. Apply the treatment and leave it on. Rinse one last time.

VEGETAL HAIR DYE

Want something more natural? Vegetal dyes are made for you then! A mixture of hot water and pigments from some plants (coffee, turmeric, tea, henna…) can provide you with amazing colors that you shouldn’t expect even from the usual coloring products. In fact, there is plenty of plants that you can grow on your own and that can make natural dye such as Madder, Walnut Hulls, Indigo, Woad, Sunflower, among others. This way, you are not only taking care of your hair by keeping it all natural, but also of your wallet by economizing more money.
