We already discussed many times the bad effects of cosmetics on our body. From the basic deodorant to the gloomy eyeshadow, all products contain one substance or more that will badly affect us. In today’s articles, I’m willing to share with you four recipes in order to make your homemade makeup.
DIY Antiperspirant
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- 3 tbsp baking soda
- 3 tbsp corn starch
In a bowl, put all the ingredients together, and mix until you get a thick paste. Then spoon the mixture into an empty underarm deodorant stick.Put the bottle in the fridge until it is cooled, and use it a usual stick antiperspirant.
Eye Shadow & Face Powder
First, here is the different powder you might use:
- Beet powder
- Spirulina powder
- Nutmeg
- Cocoa powder
- Activated carbon
Eye shadow: use ¼ teaspoon of arrowroot as the base. then, add the color your want and mix the colors until you get the shade you want. If you prefer a creamier eye shadow, you can add ⅛ teaspoon of shea butter. This butter will moisturize your lids and prevent the eye shadow from rubbing off.
Face powder: In a bowl, put one tablespoon of arrowroot and slowly add cocoa and until you get the shade that matches your skin.
Eyeliner/ Mascara
- ¾ tsp beeswax
- ½ tsp coconut oil
- ½ tsp shea butter
- 2 tsp of aloe vera gel
- 1 capsule of activated charcoal
In a double boiler, place the wet ingredients and gently heat until the ingredients are all melted and the mixture is homogeneous. Then, break the charcoal capsule into the mixture and mix it all.
